Lim Guan Eng deceives to hurt others, distorts truth on temples

16 May 2012

Lim Guan Eng plays with deception and falsely blames others for the demolition of the Tua Pek Kong temple in Butterworth. I am extremely shocked and ashamed of his accusations.

The temple demolition issue is another typical attempt of Penang DAP to slander MCA by distorting the truth to turn the people against the BN government.

On 29 June 2009, the Tua Pek Kok temple committee held a press conference confirming that one of the buildings demolished by the Seberang Perai Municipal Council was definitely their new temple. This puts to stop any argument by DAP that the demolished building was not a ‘temple’. There is no need to further include 3 State Assemblymen and the Penang Exco on Non-Islamic Religious Affairs to handle this matter. Pakatan cannot deny that it was in fact a Chinese temple that was demolished.

One of the local residents has also confirmed that a new branch of the Tua Pek Kok temple was demolished. He said that the residents intended to seek the government’s approval for the construction of a new temple for worship and prayer purposes. However, before they could submit their application request, the state government moved to destroy it. 3 days after the incident, the Pakatan government immediately released a joint statement to quell all fires.

It is easy to see what sort of person Lim Guan Eng is from the above evidences. He will not hesitate to spread deception and anti-Barisan Nasional government propagandas to boost his publicity. Press statements and conferences are all his tools to cover up the truth. Lim Guan Eng hides behind the shadows of NGOs, manipulating them to pin any blame on BN to protect himself. Lim Guan Eng dragging the Bagan Tua Pek Kok temple committee to speak on his behalf is a prime example.

I urge Lim Guan Eng not to play hide-and-seek and address this matter properly. Do not discredit us behind our backs. Do compete with us based on credentials. Lying is the simplest form of self-defence. Quit playing tricks for cheap publicity and start taking practical actions.
